Casting Ballots at Polling Places: Local Election Voting in a Pub?

I got a kick out of this slideshow from Reuters that shows some of the polling places where British voters are going to cast their ballots in the national elections today.  While we’re used to voting in churches and schools here in the United States, some of the polling locations in Great Britain include pubs and hair salons.

Can you imagine if your state started putting voting machines in local bars?  I sincerely doubt that will ever happen, but I’ll tell you one thing: it would make things much more interesting for candidates and supporters who greet voters outside of the polling stations on election day.
